Well, it's quite obvious what your passion - anyone reading would figure that out in short order. The next thing to consider might be any feed readers you have - they take your text and photos from posts, but not from the website itself...

I'm into simple so to me the banner looks too cluttered for the background image - so much to look at and the patterns, again, to me (certainly not a trained eye in anything!) don't flow as well as they could. ^^

WGS - Yeah, I think it's just my style. I was going to either go minimalistic or all out vintage cute, and obviously the latter won. HUGE time sucker. I think I'll just keep this for a while...
