It's a sign!

...that Grace likes signs!

Holy cow, this kid is digging the signs. I've been doing them with her all day today, and she's lovin' it. She did the sign for "eat" today at breakfast. Fast learner. She must really want to communicate. I feel dumb now for not starting them earlier with her. What else should I start early? Toilet training? I wish.... Although Mama Seoul makes a good case for elimination communication.....I haven't bothered to try it yet. Maybe I should.

Oh, I made a cake today, complete with pink icing and sprinkles. It was not easy. I think I got the last bit of butter in Uijeongbu. I went to three supers to find it and he only had one pack left. Why are Koreans so anti-butter? I also want to make some banana bread and apple cake, but I need supplies! I think this calls for a gmarket order.

Costco, that will satisfy your need for butter! I bought butter there for Christmas baking, gave a brick away and STILL have some in my fridge. Great stuff, I think it was 4 bricks for around 15,000won.
As for signing, well Thomas only really used "more" and "all done" but he used them well! He speaks Korean usually but we can figure out his needs pretty well. I highly recommend signing, it can be so great for you and Grace!

Great that Grace enjoys signing. It's a wonderful means of communication. Speaking of which ... she'd probably catch on to the sign to go potty too.

We used infant potty training with our third and enjoyed it very much, were delighted to start and finish sooner than we had with traditional delayed toilet learning. We didn't know about potty sign language at that time (30 years ago) but are now using it with our grandson at potty time.

Here are a few links for anyone wanting to read up on the practice:

Resources include the “Infant Potty Training” book and the “Potty Whispering” DVD.

No idea why Koreans are anti-butter but a few guesses: price and/or health?

Cheers
