Ravelympics medal

Finally, I finished my event and got my medal for the Ravelympics. I mentioned before that I was going to be in the short track shawls event, but even a really simple shawl pattern can take a while. This year especially I'm short on time, so I had to choose a smaller project. I ended up entering the hat half-pipe with Odessa, a hat by Grumperina. It's a super cool pattern that is supposed to be done with beads. I wanted to use beads, but didn't have time to get to Dongdaemun to choose some appropriate ones, so this is a beadless hat. I feel so-so about it. It fits, but it's a little tight, so I probably won't wear it. I think Grace looks pretty cute in it though, so maybe it will just go to her. After knitting several years, i still have yet to knit a hat that fits me. I don't know what it is about hats...I just can't get them right. Anyway, this is a pattern I've always wanted to try, so now it's off my list. Also, it has justified my need for an interchangeable circular needle set. Knitting this on double pointed needles was really annoying. There are several brands of needle sets, and they can be pricey, so I'll have to do my research on this one.

I found your blog through the Korean knitters on Ravelry. I'm katattack on there.

Anyway, I recently got the Denise Interchangeable Knitting Needles and I'm so in love with them! http://www.knitdenise.com/

I've been using them for about 6 months and am totally in love; especially for making hats!

I'm going to attempt to make my first sweater with them soon. I hope you find that website helpful. I bought the pink ones to help support breast cancer.

Thanks for recommending them, Kathleen. I've been up in the air about which set to get. Did you have them shipped to Korea? I definitely have to get a set, as it was really annoying knitting this hat at DPNs and as you know, there is a poor selection of circs in Korea.

No problem! I did have them shipped here. I don't remember how much shipping was, but I don't remember it being over the top expensive. I think it was maybe $15-20USD.

I can understand being up in the air about needles. It's a huge investment and one you want to be happy with. I love the fact that I can take the needles off if I need to move my project somewhere and put the stoppers on and ensure that I don't lose any stitches. It's a bit frustrating figuring out the cord length at first, but the instructions help out a lot. Also, I've heard they have a lifetime warranty. Most people have had their sets over 20 years, so it's a good investment.

I bought the set through their website, but they of course suggest ordering through your LYS if they have the whole set available. I hope this is helpful for you to make your decision!

Also, Grace is so adorable. I love coming to your site every few weeks and seeing new pictures and seeing how much she's grown. I hope your husband is doing better!
